As Cooking School FOH Manager, you will manage and oversee the efficient and fiscally responsible operation of The Dirty Apron Cooking School FOH and admin. This will include leading, managing, coaching, motivating and training staff to achieve the highest level of customer service, adherence to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health & safety, and other programs and initiatives. The Cooking School FOH Manager oversees cooking school FOH scheduling, management of labour costs, budgets, inventory control, social media, the hiring and training of cooking school FOH staff, as well as some in-house graphic design work. The Cooking School FOH Manager demonstrates outstanding leadership, superior judgment, decision making, superb verbal and written communication skills and commitment to the success of The Dirty Apron Cooking School & Delicatessen. We are looking for someone full time, schedule is Monday - Friday with some flexibility. - Assists in creating and maintaining the highest levels of personal and team productivity - Commitment to outstanding customer service - Recruits, trains, develops, motivates, and coaches department staff - Conducts performance reviews - Supports, promotes and implements all company policies, initiatives and standard operating procedures - Demonstrates growth in product knowledge, including awareness of product changes, promotions, and seasonal trends and cooking classes in store and online - Commitment to efforts that maximizes sales - Monitors budgets and labour cost - Provides leadership to the Private & Corporate Events Coordinator by being knowledgeable in all tasks and operations around events - Responsible for social media management and strategies - Assists with in-house graphic design as needed - Works closely with the cooking school BOH by providing detailed and timely communication of all cooking school related matters Our ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications: • A minimum of 1.5 years of experience in the service industry. Serving experience is required • A minimum of 1.5 years of experience in customer service: handling and managing customer bookings, inquiries and complaints • A minimum of 1.5 years of administrative experience: must be sufficient in Microsoft Word/Excel, familiar with Google calendars/Gmail and confident learning an online booking system. E-Commerce experience is a bonus, or the willingness to learn • A minimum of 1.5 years of experience planning and coordinating private events • A minimum of 1.5 years of experience in retail/sales • Ability to plan, develop, oversee, and -if necessary- implement new efficient and productive systems • Ability to supervise, manage, lead and motivate a team • Strong knowledge of design and social media programs • Fluent in English (verbal and written) • Ability to work well with others in a cooperative environment • Superior verbal and written communication skills • Commitment to superior customer service • Must be available some evenings and weekends for special events, training and being involved in all aspects of the cooking school. • Ability to work individually, be self-motivated and also work well in a team. • Superior efficiency and organizational skills • Time management is key, as well as being able to communicate and work well with your team members!
