The Dirty Apron is excited to team up with Chef Tina Fineza to present this year's cooking camps for budding young chefs.
Designed with young learners in mind, children and teens are actively engaged in the cooking process, from start to finish.
The Kids Camp Menu (7-11years):
Day 1: Free Form Whole Wheat Pizza; Critterless Caesar Salad; Chocolate Chip Cookies
Day 2: Chicken & Veggie Kebabs with Cous Cous; Very Berry Shortcake
Day 3: Insalata Mista / Mixed Green Salad; Fresh Pappardelle Pasta with Tomato Sauce; Raspberry Gelato
Day 4: Summer Smoothie; Weekend Frittata; Great Granola;
Blueberry Buckle
Day 5: Lime and Honey-Glazed Salmon; Red Pepper, Carrot and Snap Pea Salad; French Whole Wheat Baguette; Apricot - Cherry Cobbler
The Teen Camp Menu (12-17 years):
Day 1: Chicken Tortilla Soup; Double Corn Cornbread; Watermelon Salsa; Make-Your-Own Tortilla Chips; Chocolate Fondue
Day 2: Handmade Farfalle Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes and Herbs; Spinach Salad with Fennel and Raspberry Vinaigrette; Okanagan Apricot Gelato
Day 3: French Baguette; Provencal Roast Chicken Breasts; Vegetable Gratin; Profiteroles Pate a Choux / Chou Pastry and Chocolate Sauce
Day 4: Cheese Souffle; Greek Frittata; Summer Berry Parfait with Oats and Pecans; Blueberry Buckle
Day 5: Grilled Halibut with Nectarine Salsa; Fraser Valley Summer Succotash; Apple Pandowdy
The 5 day classes run throughout the months of July and August, and take place Mondays to Fridays, from 9am-1pm. We offer classes for two age groups: 7-11 year olds and 12-17 year olds.
In the past, parents of summer camp participants have been positively surprised by their kids' fresh attitude to healthy eating and willingness to try new foods. Who knows, you may even end up learning a thing or two from your new sous chef in your home kitchen.
