Chefs & Tutors - Dan Hayes
London born and raised, Dan Hayes is the owner and chef at The London Chef, an interactive cooking school with a café, pantry and catering kitchen in Victoria, BC.
Hayes has been a chef for 12 years. Training in the UK under renowned English seafood chefs Rick Stein and Mitch Tonks he worked at Stein’s Cornwall restaurants and went on to help open and work as Head Chef at various restaurants in London and the Canary Islands. He has also worked at Michelin starred restaurants in southern Spain.
Hayes loves sharing his passion for seafood. His culinary style marries the best of classical French techniques with Mediterranean flavours and his easy-going approach to cooking makes him a student favourtie.
